Is Controlling The Mind a Real Possibility? MK-Ultra Wanted to Find Out
Today I want to wear my tinfold hat and dive into some of the conspiracy theories regarding MK-Ultra and the probable reasons behind it.
This project was an illegal human experimentation program designed and undertaken by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), intended to develop procedures and identify drugs that could be used in interrogations to weaken individuals and force confessions through brainwashing and psychological torture. Furthermore, they researched the possibilities of mind control in human beings.
It ran from 1953 to the 1970s in the context of the Cold War.
The goal of the project was to develop a perfect truth serum for use in the interrogation of Soviet spies, as well as to explore the possibilities of mind control.
In parts, the work also overlapped with the research of other U.S. programs on biological weapons.
The program included, among other things, thousands of human experiments in which unsuspecting test subjects, often randomly selected from among hospital patients and prison inmates, were subjected to highly potent hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD and mescaline without their knowledge.
Some also assume that Charles Manson was a test subject of the CIA.
